Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

We received almost 2-inches of rain last evening and night and the creeks did not run and most of it sunk in. We needed it very badly. The lake has risen 7-inches in the last 24-hours and is now at 546.06 and they just started generating last hour. It was 72 yesterday and in the 30's today as the rollercoaster contunues. More rain is coming and it is to warm to the 50's tomorrow. Our normal high is 53. Our guests from Minnesota caught several nice crappie yesterday drifting over brush with a grub and a few bass. They are really getting the hang of fishing deep southern lakes with little structure. We have another big group coming in tomorrow. The lake surface temperature is around 46 depending on where and when you check. This is about normal. I have seen no lethargic shad in the last several days. I am still catching bass and crappie everyday and for me they are the best bite. It seems the morning bite is better now than the afternoon. I cut down some trees on my property and put them in the lake and they are producing already. We just finished putting new laminate floors in the cabins and they really look nice and are much cleaner than carpet. No more carpet for me in anything. The girls are painting everything and the place really looks nice. We finished putting new steel roofs on every building on the place last year and all of this comes with no price increases on anything. Call 870-492-5115 for a reservation and boat rental. The lake is in excellent condition and we will be ready for you. Join our large group of repeat customers. We will not charge you too much.
