Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 548.60 and dropping quickly with one generator running most of the time. The surface temperature has dropped to below 50 with some ice on the shore in the very backs of the creeks. The cold advisory has just expired and it is warming nicely with the sunshine and is to get in the 40's with some rain predicted for Sunday. The super moon was so big and bright in the clear sky the last two nights that you did not need headlights to go to the dock. There is another one coming the end of this month. John Bornhop just left and caught some nice fish spooning including bass and crappie with a very large smallmouth. Good to see him again. This is a good lake level for January but it does not need to drop much more. Keep it stable now and let it clear a bit. Blackburns was very busy this last week but it just got a bit too cold sometimes for fishing with ice in the rod eyelets. We had fun though. We were better off than most of the country.
