Norfork Lake fishing and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 551.34 and has dropped about 1-inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running a few hours. The surface temperature was 57 last evening. I caught several crappie yesterday and a couple of nice bass on brush. I started out on 1/.4 ounce Bink's spoon and ended on minnows and slip floats.  Boats were everywhere from the tournament and just over 15-lbs is in the lead. It was cold when they left out this morning. Only six anglers from the top three teams will be left after today and there will be a mass exodus. Some are complaining about catching only small fish but the total of 15-lbs is pretty good so far. They are happy about our resort, parking availability and price. They said parking was a major problem elsewhere. They like to park their boat right by the cabin and plug in. We have lots of parking and outlets.   Blackburns was full but many are leaving tomorrow. We had an angler from Maine and a lot from Texas. We hope they like it here. It should warm back up a bit later this weekend. I am taking the day off. it was beautiful yesterday. Sunny and high in the 50's.  Those boys sure move fast. I like to stay a while and work a place where I know there are fish but am not on any time schedule. They go in when the fish are biting the best from 3:30 PM to dark. There are a lot of red meat fish part way back in float creek on the north side.
