Scuba Steve From Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental On Norfork Lake Arkansas Near Mountain Home in the Ozark Mountains Blog. (Click Here For Comments)

The lake level is 563.85 and is dropping about 2-1/2 inches in a 24 hour period with some generation most of the time. It has now been 4-months since the raise. We should be at 552 now.  The 553.75 is a new so called normal caused by the worthless minimal flow rule that took away flood capacity for the put and take trout. They have been getting good minimal flow lately and are complaining about not being able to wade the river. The lake is in good condition but mainlake points have had snags hold up on them when the lake receded and you need to be careful when cutting points. I do not recommend going out after dark unless you are very familiar with the area. It looks to be a very busy weekend and they took the rain out of the forecast today and the Texas storm looks to go northeast of us. A litte rain would not hurt. Blackburn Resort and Boat rental goes on it's winter rates Monday and you can get a cabin for $53/day with a free boat stall. 870-492-5115.  Blackburns is your fall foliage headquartes for Norfork Lake and The Ozark Mountain region. Normal peak is the last week of October but we will keep you posted. I am going walleye fishing.
