Scuba Steve From Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental On Norfork Lake Arkansas Near Mountain Home in the Ozark Mountains Blog. (Click Here For Comments)

The lake level is 564.84 and dropping a little over 2-inches in a 24 hour period. The creeks are still stained green and the visibility is about 5-feet on the main lake. Tom Kelly caught some good fish including a walleye yesterday in the Cranfield area. Mike and James caught stripers, bass, walleye and crappie in the same area a few days ago. Stripers are in deep water at 70-80 feet and are being caught near thumb point on spoons. All of the stripers die when brought up from that depth so remember if you go regularly that your posession limit is twice the daily limit of three including hybrids. Venting does not work. The water temperature was 79 yesterday morning on the main lake in some places and in the low 80's other. Fishing will get better and better as the lake dropping brings my brush piles into play and the water cools a bit. August has been cooler than normal with July being the hot month this year. Everything is still very green which is unusual. Blackburns has cabins available from $75/day until September 4th when they drop to $53/day.  Cannot beat that anywhere especially when you take into account a free boat stall. Check prices before you book unless you just have too much money.
