The lake level is 572.56 and they have cut generation down and it is dropping about 1-inch in a 24 hour period. The level at Newport is still dropping and is just above 12-feet. The rules of dam management need to be reviewed or there need to be someone else making the decisions. There is no reason to hold this long. The rise happened over 2-months ago. The lake is clear and there is no debris but day services are being affected. People cannot find a place to camp or swim from the shore. Resorts have full service. We had a couple of thunderstorms and about an inch of rain the last few days and it has kept everything green. There have been no rain outs. Stripers are biting on spoons on the bottom at 50-feet and catfish are hitting trotlines and limb lines. Some crappie are showing up and bluegill fishing is excellent off Blackburns dock. Night fishing with a black light and saltcraw is good and surface temperature is in the mid 80's. Our big pool is very busy and the kids love the slide. If it does rain you have covered porches on all cabins to sit outside out of the weather. I would not stay anywhere with out one. People are using the big pavillion to have cookouts, play shuffleboard and ping pong. Kids are riding their bikes everywhere. We like it when people are having fun. The fish started biting yesterday about 9-AM.
