John Schreeves with one very nice striper. Image title

The lake level is still rising a bit with a few hours of generation and is at 550.73. It is a very good level. Tommy Smith reports carching some big walleye on his trot line and seeing several turkeys. John and Debbie Schreeves are back from Omaha, Nebraska and John is catching some nice fish. He caught a very nice striper yesterday. He catches more and more everytime they come. Marion Bass left me some nice garden plants. Thank you. Marion reports there were 287 boats in the Cystic Fibrosis bass tournament and just over 15-lbs. won. Not bad.  Fish are moving back on main lake points and cuts on brush and the water temperature should rise with the warm weather and fairly warm nights for the next week. It has been very slow warming and has struggled to get to 60 on the main lake. The top water bite is getting better every day. It is a good time for a fishing trip and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental will not charge you too much. You can still get a 1-bedroom cabin for two people for $53/day with a free boat stall with your cabin. Trolling motors are included in price for fishing pontoons. Why pay more? 1-800-635-0526
