The lake level is 550.19 and rising with no generation for 24-hrs. 552 was the normal pool for years until the worthless minimum flow for the put and take trout raised it to 553.75 taking away flood capacity. We are in the ballpark now. It would be better for the spawn if it were in the buckbrush but this is a good level and it is not rising too fast. The lake in general is in excellent condition but is warming slow. Today's mid-70's with sunshine will help that. It was a beautiful day yesterday and the wind slowed dramatically. Marion Bass reports finding many Bass on shad shallow yesterday in the Bennets area and Bink is catching big fish both morning and evening. Blackburns is full today but give us a call on Monday. The Cystic Fibrosis bass tournament is today and will draw many local fishermen. These guys know how to fish and will give an indication of the conditions. I predict a large catch. Fish are coming up most mornings and the top water fishing is getting better every day and the evening bite is still good. Smaller crank baits are working for bass also. Look for crappie in pigeon, middle pigeon, east pigeon and briar creeks. My trot line is slow for catfish.
