I went fishing yesterday from 5-6 PM. Caught several crappie and a nice walleye all on Blackburns brush piles in 30-feet of water on a 1/4 ounce Bink's jigging spoon white with a green back. All went in the trophy pond. When I threw the first crappie in there was a big splash and it was gone. It takes a pretty big fish to eat a 13-inch crappie and there are some big ones in there. A gentleman stopped me on the road and thanked me for stocking the pond and said he likes those crappie. Payment enough. There is now a picnic table on the dam with an umbrella. Blackburns new motorcycle garage is working out well and the people like having their bikes under protection. We have a lot of bikers as guests and they are welcome. We also offer farm fresh eggs at your arrival for free when you check in. I like chickens and we have some good ones. Red, yellow, black and black and white. Jackson is the big rooster and he takes care of all 21 of the hens. They are so tame they jump up in my hands to be petted. I told them they have a place to live for life and that reassures them. They are seven months old and I am getting from 15-18 eggs a day. I can only eat about a dozen. We are approaching fall foliage time and we usually peak the last of this month.
