Rick and Debbie Goins Caught Some Good ones Fishing With Jack and Debbie Garrett. Welcome.Image title

We received two inches of rain last afternoon and evening and the creeks run hard and the lake has come up about 4-inches with one generator running continuously. We were dry again and there is a good chance for more rain in the next couple of days with the temperature in the low 80's for highs and low 60's for lows. The water surface temperature is in the low to mid 70's.  About all speces of fish are biting. The top water bite is on early and when they go down people are catching them trolling umbrellas. Bass are on the banks shallow and biting with top water lures and grubs. Crappie and bluegill are on brush and biting on spoons and live minnows. Many crappie are not as large as normal but there are some very big ones. Walleye are on brush at 20-30 feet near the bottom. There was a good spawn with water levels stable and in the buck brush for some cover. Future fishing looks good. Magness caught a 80-Lb. Loggerhead turtle on their trot lines and released it quickly. They are protected and hard to come by. I have seen only two of them in 21-years. They are magnificient creatures. They were common in the 70's and early 80's but not now. Blackburns is full again starting Friday and we are trying hard to get everything ready. The lake looks to be in excellent condition for both fishing and water sports and people are swimming and skiing already. It was very busy on the lake last weekend with the beautiful weather. Check out our prices before booking your summer trip. Yesterday was an example why you need covered porches. Our guests were on their porches playing cards and rigging lines during the rain. Better than staying inside. Worst case: Staying in a duplex with no porch and paying too much. My garden, the chickens and the grass are growing rapidly and that is good. Come on down. 1-800-635-0526 we will be glad to have you.
