We receirved about an inch of rain so far with more to come. It is badly needed. The lake level is back up to just over 553 and is in good condition. I had 71 degree water in the back of Blackburns Creek last evening. Some crappie are moving to the brush with some still on the bank You can catch fish in both places. Open water fish were coming up all over the lake this morning but most were shallow on spawning shad. Remember the limit is a total of three of a combination of Hybrids and stripers. The rest must be immediately released. And there is a posession limit of twice the daily limit.   We are right in the middle of the top water season and this is when the open water fish are the easiest to catch. I caught a big flathead on my trot line yesterday and some giant crappie this morning on minnows. They are now swimming in Tom Kelly's trophy pond.  Some large bass are also being caught. Things are coming around nicely and Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is ready for your visit. We will not charge you too much or for most boat stalls. 1-800-635-0526. One bedroom cabins are $53/day for two people with cabins up to 4-bedrooms priced accordingly. Come on down.
