Norfork Lake Fishing Report By Scuba Steve From Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental On Norfork Lake Arkansas Near Mountain Home In the Ozark Mountains (Click Here for Comments)

We received just under three inches of rain from 1:pm to 5:Pm yesterday and were susposed to get one. The lake level has risen 6-inches in the last 24-hours and now is above 554. The just started one generator after running nothing all day yesterday. It is time to let some water out boys. The creeks run hard and are muddy in the back of the lake. The surface temperature is just above 55 and is having trouble rising. The ambient temperature is to get to the high 70's today and then cool off to the 60's again. 65 is our average temperature. We have been in a cycle of very nice weather for the weekends which does not matter to me personally. If I did not have to write out checks I would not know what day it is. I would know if there was a low pressure moving in or if a sunny high pressure had been here for a few days and what direction the wind was blowing and if the lake was rising or falling and what the fish are biting on.That is what is important along with baseball starting Sunday. I will go out in a few minutes to find out what effects the rain has had. The lake is in excellent condition but needs to warm a bit. There are a lot of crappie and bluegill under the dock but I am having trouble catching many fish on my brush piles yet but I will keep trying. It will happen overnight. Many fish are on shad in open water and are moving quickly and hard to stay on.
