Scuba Steve With Some Of Yesterday's Catch With Bink's Guide ServiceImage title

Bink invited me to go fishing with him yesterday and we were on Live in the Boat On KTLO Radio 97.9 FM at 8:45 AM on Thursdays. I like listening to Bob Knight and the gang. We sure had fun. The weather was perfect, nice and warm and the wind was light until late morning when it picked up and the fish stopped biting. I was spooning and Bink was throwing the grub.  We both did about the same. We caught our fish in the Brushy Creek area in about 36 feet of water near the bottom on a flat. It was not easy but we caught some good ones. The reports that the fish are in a feeding frenzy and the bite is on is not working for me. I thought maybe it was just this part of the Lake but Darrel has not been doing much better at his end lately. There were no birds available to guide us so we used the locator.  Like I said we are catching good fish but are putting in a lot of time doing it. The surface temperature ranges from 55 early and 58 afternoon. They have been running both generators 24/7 for several days and are dropping the lake fast. It is now 556.22 and it shows they can do it if they want to. More rain is scheduled for the area Saturday night and Sunday. We seem to be in a pattern of rain every week. I never have the best luck fishing with a high pressure settled in and the lake dropping rapidly. I will spoon brush piles again today. I like that best.  There sure is a lot of shad, especially at the mouth of creeks with flats on them. Many do not have fish on them. I am not seeing very many giant stripers brought in with most of them in the 5-8 lb. range. We will see what January and the cold weather brings. My friend Leonard Darr is enjoying some of these as we speak.
