Crappie Fishing On Norfork Lake Arkansas By Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental

The water surface temperature is in the high 60's and dropping slowly. The fall foliage is not very impressive this year and will be peak in a few days. It is still beautiful here. Joe Cebula is catching some nice fish everyday including crappie. Some are small but there are some big ones in there too. They have moved to the brush in 25-32 feet and should stay there for a while with more very large ones joining them. They tend to stay put all winter despite the lake turnover which affects mostly open water fish. I have been turning several loose under the dock. Some bass are moving in with them.  Most brush piles are holding fish. I have been using a 1/4 ounce Bink's spoon but slip floats with minnows about 12-feet down right over the brush is working too. We carry live bait all year long here and on site fishing licenses too. Most places do not and do not want to pay the bond for the fishing license machine. This is perfect fishing weather. Scuba Steve likes those big crappie and caught a good one yesterday amonst some in the 10-11 inch range. I bet John might be able to catch some too. But not from the porch. Image title
