The lake level is 554.67 and has dropped 1-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running about 3/4 of the time. The White River is 23.97 feet and high and is what they could do if they wanted to drop the lake in the winter. The surface water temperature is 49 degrees and rising and the water is clearing again quickly after the rain. It is just right for fishing. The brown is gone. It is 74-degrees ambient temperature now and it is not scheduled to freeze for at least the next week. There is not much chance of a shad kill this year. Scuba Steve went Bass fishing yesterday and caught a couple of pretty good Kentucky bass and a couple of crappie. Fishing was not the best but the weather was perfect. Blackburns has one cabin open so come on down. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115. She is getting a lot of calls for the spring and summer already. People are getting stir crazy. It was a pretty cold January. If you are tired of fishing through hard water we are open all year. You cannot walk on our water or drill holes in it and do not need a tent and Norfork has a lot of big fish. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located and a free stall for your boat comes with the cabin rental of two days or more. Compare prices and do not pay too much. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. It is nice here and the price is right. We offer peace and quiet. If you are looking for a place to set around the bonfire, smoke dope, play loud music and drink all night this is probably not for you. There are lot of campgrounds that allow that.
