The lake level is 560.99 and has dropped 7-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuous and spillway gates open equal to another 1-generator. It is dropping fast now. The White River at Newport is 11.89 feet and stable and they are regulating to 12-feet. They can go up to 21-feet on Sunday if they want to. The surface water temperature is 61-degrees and dropping with the cold weather and the water is still stained light brown with the heavy generation. It has dropped 8-feet from it's high about 3-weeks ago and is about where launching and parking is getting back to normal. It is about time. Fishing is just fair but I am catching a few everyday. I am targeting Bass and Crappie but the trollers are catching a few stripers in open water on live bait but are covering a lot of ground to do so. It is either feast or famine for them.  They go for hours with nothing and then finally find a school of feeding fish. Many of them are small. There are lots of guides vying for just a few customers and it is a lean time for them. Ask them if they guarentee fish. The two best lures for me is the 3/8th ounce Bink's Spoon tapping bottom back in creeks in about 20-ft. of water and a 2-inch white twister tail tipped with a small live minnow cast past the brush or any wood and letting it fall into it. I only use a 1/16th ounce white with red eye jig head.
