Mike Dean with some nice ones fishing Blackburns Brush Piles yesterday.
The lake level is 562.85 and has dropped 5-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and spillway gates open to an equivalent of 1/3rd of a generator. It is down almost 6-ft. from it's high of 568.51. It needs to get down lower than 560 badly. The White River at Newport is 12.37 feet and they are regulating to 12-feet and can increase that to 21-feet on December 1st if they want to. There is no accountability and I wish they were in elected offices not just government bureaucracy. I will have Elon investigate them. Looks like a lot of fat there. The surface water temperature is 62-degrees and is still stained light brown with the heavy generation. The weather is to cool off dramatically starting this afternoon. Fishing is about the same with a few more Crappie showing up but Bass are the best bite still on grubs and small spinner baits near the original shoreline around cover. Trollers are picking up a few smaller Stripers but not many on live bait. Bink is spooning back in the creeks in the middle near the bottom and catching Kentucky Bass at about 20-ft. The fish get active in the evening. I am mostly Crappie fishing casting a Bobby Garland Blue Ice Baby Shad tipped with a live minnow past brush back in the creeks and letting it sink into it and catching some fish everyday but not a lot. When having family get-togethers this holiday season it is time to talk about your summer vacation trips or spring fishing trips. Remember Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has the best place and the best prices in the Ozarks and especially welcome Veterans and Police. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here and the price is right. You will like it and the children will really like it.
