The lake level is 566.60 and has dropped 5-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously and spillway gates open just a bit equal to about 1/3rd of a generator. The surface water temperature is 63-degrees+ and the water is still tea colored but not as dark as it was. It should be clearing by now but is taking a long time. It is a good color for fishing. The debris is sticking to the bank with the lake drop. The White River at Newport is 13.69 feet and dropping so there is plenty of room to drop the lake if they want to. It is warn and cloudy today with winds coming and maybe a storm. It is to cool off in a couple of days. We have officially not had a frost yet but it could be close later this week. You can catch some bass with a small spinner bait part way back in the creeks just off the normal shoreline if you can get by the buckbrush without snagging. Otherwise go way back in the creeks in the middle away from brush and spoon in 20-25 ft. of water tapping bottom. I am getting a few Crappie and Bass but are working for them with no big numbers. The schooled fish are very spooky. Bait is scattered everywhere. Work windblown banks. When having a hard time beat the bank with a small grub tipped with a live minnow. I have not caught a Walleye for a week. It is just nice to be out there.Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
