Norfork Lake Condition by Scuba Steve From Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 567.48 and is up 8-inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 1/2 the time. It is still rising when they generate and more when they don't so we have not crested yet. It has come up a total of over 16-feet from a low of 551.43 just a few days ago when we had a burn ban on. The White River at Newport is 23.73 feet and high with a minor flood stage of 25-feet so do not expect the lake to drop anytime soon. The surface water is 67-degrees and is a light brown color everywhere from Missouri to the bridges with debris scattered everywhere with a log jam heading south from the Highway 62-bridge. When they generate there is river current and it moves and when they quit it stops around any barrier. There was a big one just south of Mallard Point yesterday afternoon but it has moved on downstream. The mud will fall out soon but the debris will remain. More rain is on the way Saturday. Stay tuned and I will keep you pasted. Listen to KTLO 97.9 FM at 8:20 AM and 1:20 PM or Tuesdays and Fridays for a radio report by Scuba Steve. He is out there everyday but is spending most of the day grading roads and moving the dock.
