Norfork Lake Condition Report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 566.80 and has risen 7-feet in 24-hours with one generator running about 1/3rd the time. It is up a total of 15-feet in the last 3-1/2 days. The White River at Newport is 19.48 feet and not low anymore. The minor flood stage is 25-feet and it does not hurt anything this time of year to go that high. Bull Shoals, Table rock and Beaver lakes are all at normal levels because they drew them down but Norfork Lake is flooded out because they did not. I voted but there was no place on the ballot to vote out the Corps Of Engineers and replace them with private companies. I will talk to Elon about this. The surface water temperature is 68-degrees. There is some current in the river now so the debris that floated up with rising water is heading south. I do not anticipate the level to drop very fast as there is no will to do so. They like to hold and hope and then open up the spillway gates and flood everything out downstream when they cannot hold anymore. The other lakes have a lot more room than Norfork and we are like the ugly stepchild and Rodney Dangerfield. I am heading out to move my dock and will keep you informed. I am not trying to sell you guided fishing trips. All of my brush piles are too deep. The rise slows when they generate but there is not much of that.
