Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

We did purchase a new Corporate Jet. Hope the Children like it. Our Pilot is working on getting her license. Image title

The lake level is 551.45 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for one hour the last 2-days. The White River at Newport is 3.92 feet and still very low. It is raining now and we have received 0.6 inches so far and it is to continue through Tuesday morning with heavy rain at times with thunderstorms. I have my boats at the dock triple tied and the dock cables tight. The drought is over. The surface water temperature is 68-degrees and the lake is fairly clear. I went crappie fishing yesterday and caught a few but nothing to brag about. The Bass are biting the best right now. There was a Junior Auxillary of Mountain Home Bass Tournament yesterday on Norfork and they did pretty well. Several teams caught weights of 11-12 pounds and over 17-lbs was the winner. 4.47 lbs. was the big bass. I believe there were 75-boats entered. This is a good time of year for tournaments. They picked a good day with good fishing conditions. Cloudy, mild and brisk winds from the Southeast but you could get out of it easily. It was good crankbait weather on windblown banks. Fishing is definitely getting better but trollers are having a hard time. I am a brush pile fisherman most of the time and brush and trolling do not go together very well. You have to move around to stay on the Crappie as they are very spooky. Catch one and they are gone but do not move very far. It is importand to use light clear line with no hardware as they are also line shy. Scuba Steve will show you where when you get here. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 and we will not charge you too much. You can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day and a 2-bedroom for $89/day and a free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of 2-days or more. It is nice here and the price is right. We are Family Owned and Family Operated and there are not very many us us left anymore as more and more are cashing out or trying to. We like it here and continue our policy of continued improvement so you will have a nice place to stay at an affordable price. Scuba Steve does not mind being poor and has no plans to go anywhere. I do not mind the time change either as I do things by the sun not the clock and if it helps children not to have to get on the school bus in the dark I am all for it. I do get confused on what time Happy Hour Starts and that is not good. They should not change that no matter what.
