Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Fisherman Mike with a nice one diving Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's Brush piles. Yes we know where the fish are located. Image title

The lake level is 551.42 and has dropped 1.2 inches in the lst 24-hours with one generator running from 3-11-PM. The White River at Newport is 3.73 feet and still very low. Surface water temperature is 68-degrees with the water fairly clear but not the best visibility for diving in the 20-30 ft. range. Overall the lake is in excellent condition and at a good level for fishing. The rain was badly needed and more is on the way with cooler temperatures. It looks like summer is over and I am about to say goodby to a very good Scuba Diving season. I do not kill very many fish but really enjoy being down there and seeing what is going on and what is happening. That way I almost always know where the fish are located and will tell you when you get here. Binks brought a big assortmant of his spoons for Blackburns Store and I will re-spool my poles with 6-lb. clear line and be ready to go. Crappie pictures to follow. I need so re-stock Tom Kelly's trophy pond as it now gets fished heavily. I alway do this in the fall and spring. It provides a lot of enjoyment and is a nice big pond. I like deer hunting season. I do not hunt anymore but prefer to feed the animals but have got my share in the past. What I like about it is that it takes the hunters off the lake and leaves more peace and quiet for me. Fishing in solitude is my favorite but I will share my brush piles with you. I have some good ones. More and more Crappie are moving in now. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and we will not charge you too much. We are open all year, are not for sale, have not sold and are Family Owned and Operated. We like it here and think you will also and have no plans to cash in. Scuba Steve has the best job ever.
