The lake level is 552.25 and has dropped 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 1/3rd the time. The White River at newport is 4.17 feet and continues to be very low with not much water being released anywhere. We are very dry and need rain badly. The surface water temperature is 71 degrees and dropping with the cooler nights and the water is clear and clearing more daily. The moss and algae that was growing on the creeks shores has now dried up and not as much is left. Fishing is getting better but is not there yet. Crappie, Bass and Walleye are the best bite. The lake overall is in excellent condition and at a good level. Blackburns Resort and Boat rental continues to have 1-bedroom cabins for $69/day and 2-bedrooms for $89/day with 3&4 bedrooms prices accordingly. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and it is nice here. 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We are family owned and operated.
