The lake level is 554.68 and has dropped 1.2 inches in the last 24-hours with 1-1/4 generators running for about 10-hours. The same is scheduled for today. The White River at Newport is 4.32 feet and very low indicating not much water is being released anywhere. The surface water temperature is 74-75 degrees and the lake is cloudy down to about 24-feet and clear under that. The creeks are stained a little green. Overall the lake is in excellent condition and at a good level for fishing. There were several boats out there this weekend but not many during the week. The weather is to be sunny and warm for the next week with highs near 80 and lows in the high 50's. Not bad for weather but not good for fishing. This is one of the few times I can get more fish diving than pole fishing. I only caught small fish this morning with throwback Walleye and Bass. The White bass that I was catching were gone and the ones that I found would not bite. It is acting like a normal October now.
