Dan and Shorty with more nice ones. Very good fisherpeople and nice too.
The lake level is 554.59 and has dropped 3/4 inch in the last 24-hours with 1-1/4 generators running for 7-hours from 3-8PM. The White River at Newport is 7.74 feet and still low. The same is scheduled for today and a little more tomorrow. They are holding Norfork Lake up too high. The surface water temperature is still 79-80 degrees and the main lake is clear with decent visibility at 30-feet. Some creeks are still brown, especially in Blackburns area but are clearing quickly after the hard 2-inch rain on Friday afternoon. It did not hurt fishing any. I graded the road down to the dock and it is in good shape. A lot is happening here on Norfork lake. Several business have been sold or are for sale and corporations are buying property all over the place. Fout Boat Dock and Quarry Marina have been sold and Fish and Fiddle and Hummingbird Hideaway Resort have sold and several others are for sale. Things they are a changin. You never know when you call who will answer the phone or if anyone will be there Mountain Home is being turned into a big campground and RV parking community with a bunch of small apartments, low income multi-family housing and VRBO's. I am not sure I like it. Everywhere you look they are scalping the land and turning it into a RV park. Several Ma and Pop businesses are cashing in, taking the money and running. I hope we do not turn into another Lake Taneycomo. There are no Family Resorts left there and Branson and Table Rock Lake are one big Condo. I have no plans to go there anymore. I guess I will just Stay here at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental and suffer on my 28-acres and spend the rest of my time Scuba Diving and Fishing and pass the place down to my family who live here. They seem to like it and want to keep it in the family. It is not for sale and will not be in my lifetime. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. You will like our beautiful green flat valley. It is close to everything because we are surrounded and growth has gone further east.
