The lake level is 554.67 and is up 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with 1-1/4 generators running about 10-hrs. They are scheduled to run the same today and a little less tomorrow. The top of the power pool changes to 553.75 on October 1st and we will see if they slow way down on generation. We received 2-inches of heavy, hard and fast rain at about 5:PM last evening here at Blackburns and it knocked out the power for a few hours. NAEC was right on the job and we thank them. Over 500 customers were affected. The creeks run hard with brown water and flooded roads and muddied up the backs of creeks. The wind blew but it could have been worse. We are pretty well protected down here in Blackburns beautiful green valley and had no damage. It was spotty and some place closeby received nothing. We needed the rain. It looks like I will be mowing unti about Christmas. The surface water temperature is 80-degrees and the fish were coming up like crazy in Blackburns Creek right where the brown water met the clear water just before dark. The mud is settling out already and did not affect the main lake. Fishing is starting to get better and it needed to.  I have to go grade the road to the dock. The county does not do it anymore for several years as nobody lives on the dock road. I have the equipment to take care of it pretty good but it takes a lot of gravel, maintenance and tree trimming. The White River at newport is 7.14 feet and still low. They are holding Norfork up too high. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's prices are not too high. You can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day  and a 2-bedroom for $89/day. Three and four bedrooms are priced acordingly. Come on down. It is nice here and the price is right. Scuba Steve will show you where his brush piles are located and he has some good ones. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. You will like it here and we will not charge you too much.
