Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 555.03 and has been the same for three days with 1-1/4 generators running for 2-hours with 5-hours scheduled for today and nothing for tomorrow. Once it hits the top of the power pool they just will not drop the lake. It is a good thing the storm went east of us this week or we would have been flooded out again. If they cannot manage the level in September there is no chance in the spring. We should be below 552 now. The White River at Newport is 4.79 feet, very low, and dropping. The surface water temperature is 76-degrees and the water is clearing nicely. Scuba conditions are good and the lake is at a good level for fishing. More and more fish are moving to the creeks and on brush on main lake points. Fishing is just fair but some nice ones are being caught every day. You have to work for them. There are several boats out there on wekends. Drop a small spoon in and around brush for Bass and Walleye and a live minnow on a slip float on top of brush for crappie in 25-32 feet of water. Some Bass are moving shallow in the evenings. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental is on their off-season rates and you can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $69/day and a 2-bedroom for $89/day. Three and four bedrooms are priced accordingly. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have either big screened in porches or covered porches to get out of the weather. I have never seen a mosquito here at Blackburns. A free stall for you boat at our big dock comes with a cabin rental of 2-days or more. Come on down. We are closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping in a beautiful valley with plenty of wildlife viewing. It is nice here and the price is right. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
