Scuba Steve likes these. They are just as good or better than Walleye for Sammiches.
The lake level is 556.72 and has risen 3/4 inch in the last 24-hours with 1-3/4 generators running 3/4 of the time. We received 1/2 inch of rain last night and it is hot and humid today but a nice week coming up. The White River at Newport is 7.70 ft. and coming up a little but not much. There is very little effort to drop the area lakes past the tops of their power pools for very many feet. The surface water temperature is 86-degrees and rising. The thermocline is at 34-feet and that is usually aboiut as deep as it goes. The water remains clear for this time of year. There is not as much floating moss in the backs of the creeks as there was. The lake overall is in good condition and at a good level and it looks to be a very good Labor Day Weekend. It is hard to believe the summer is about over and school is starting. I am not a winter person. The best fishing is early morning and late evening taking the middler of the day off. The Bass are coming up some days about an hour after sunrise and again back in the creeks late evening. Fish main lake brush in 25-35 ft. of water on a spoon or live minnow and catch some Bluegill or kentucky Bass.
