Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Mike with some nice ones Diving Blackburns Brush Piles this morning. Yes. We know where they are. Image title

The lake level is 557.46 and has dropped 6-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously for 6-days and the lake is dropping very quickly as the bowl gets smaller. The White River is 8.3 feet and still low. It has been hot and dry but is to cool starting today. The surface water temperature is 88-degrees.  The water remains clear and the visibility is good down to the thermocline that starts at 30-feet and very cold at 35-feet. Diving conditions are good but the larger Walleye are deeper than normal. Blackburns brush piles are coming into play after most being too deep but the level is dropping right where it needs to be now. If I could pick an ideal water level and not have it change it would be right here but it took them all spring and summer to get here. Fishing should be good this fall. November is my favorite month for fishing after the lake turns but early October can be good also. It is a good time to catch big Crappie, Walleye and Bass along with all red meat fish. Right now Stripers are deep and all die when being caught no matter the size.  Find the shad and drop a spoon on their heads and start looking in about 60-feet of water. The Crappie have not moved into main lake brush in big numbers yet but will in two or three weeks as will the White Bass. Fish over main lake brush in 25-35 feet of water with spoons, jigs or live bait now. Many nice Kentucky Bass are there along with a few Crappie and smaller Walleye. The weather looks great and the lake is in excellent condition so come on down and visit Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental. It is nice here and the price is right and a free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much.
