The lake level is 559.41 and has dropped 5-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running continuously. They could have done this months ago. They are scheduled to keep it up and be at the top of the power pool by 13 August which is 555.75 feet. The White River at Newport is 8.85 feet and still low but rising.  The surface water temperature is 87-88 degrees and the thermocline starts at 30-ft. and the water is very cold at 35-feet. The water clarity remains good for this time of year and both the creeks and main lake are clear. It is very clear near the shore. Several fish of different species are in 25-38 ft. of water at various depths but many are on the bottom. The White 1/2 ounce Bink's Spoon with the red eye are the best lure. Tap bottom, snap up 5-6 feet and let it drop on slack line. They will hit on the fall. Look for brush or chunk rock near by. White Bass are biting well. The weather looks great for at least the next week so it is an excellent time to get in a vacation before school starts.
