The lake level is 560.29 and is down 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with generation for about 5-hours. They were scheduled to start up again at 8:AM this morning but did not do so. The White River at Newport is 6.14 feet and about ready to dry up and still they will not drop Norfork Lake. If we do not get a big rain they will have to do so sooner or later. They want to wait until the summer is over. The forecast is to be at 555.75 by August 15th and they could do that in a few days if they wanted to. The surface water temperature is 86-87 degrees and the thermocline starts at 29-feet and is very cold at 35-feet. Bass, crappie, Walleye and Bluegill are on windblown brush at various depths. When a cold front moves in and the wind comes from the North they move to the North facing banks on the brush and the opposite when high pressure is here and the wind in from the south like it is now. It is hot and windy in the afternoons and looks like it will stay that way for a while. It is to be hot, sunny and dry for the next week.  We need some rain but the grass is still green. It is hard to believe it is August tomorrow. Things are looking good here at Blackburns so come on down for a visit. Our 1-bedroom cabins start at $90/day with 2,3,4 bedrooms priced accordingly and they come with a free stall for your boat at our dock. Come on down and we will not charge you too much. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We especially welcome veterans and Police. The children will like the big pool with slide and baby pool and large flat playground and feeding the ducks, turtles and fish at the dock. The dock and pool are the places to be this time of year.
