The lake level is 560.37 and has dropped 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with no generation since 6:PM last evening, none scheduled for today and just a little tomorrow. This is getting ridiculous on how and why they are holding Norfork Lake up so high for so long while the other area lakes are all below the top of the power pool and we are several feet above. There needs to be an investigation, accountability and a few resignations or reassignments. I know you cannot fire a government person no matter how incompetant they are but something needs to be done. The White River an Newport is 11.43 feet and dropping and much lower than it could be. The surface water temperature is 87-degrees and the water remains clear at the thermocline at 29-feet. It is to be seasonably warm and sunny the rest of the week. We are getting dry again. It is hard to believe July is almost over. The stripers are in 65-ft. of water right out in front of Quarry Marina or what ever they call it now. That is the place to be for them. They are killing a lot of them and tryiing to thin them out. The walleye White bass and Hybrids are all together  in 37-ft. of Water near the bottom in a different place. Most of the larger walleye have moved from main lake brush out deeper. on points leaving the smaller ones. More Crappie have moved in to the brush on the main lake in 25-32 ft. of water and bass are with them and a few smaller walleye. Spoons, grubs and jigs are working the best. I do not fish with live bait except for Catfish all the time and Crappie sometimes, do not want a live scope and do not troll. The moon is getting smaller and the lake is rising slowly with no generation so the catfishing should be good tonight. The are a lot of big bluegill on top of brush. Small Spoons, Jigs and Crickets are working best but you can always catch some on worms. Blackburns has one cabin open now and a few for the Labor day Holiday so give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation before you have to pay much more elsewhere for an inferior place and pay for your first boat stall if they have a dock. Some do not. We also have a big pool with slide and baby pool some do not. We have it all and at the best price on both cabins and boat rentals. You will like it here.We are not for sale.
