Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Caught fishing with Bink's Guide Service on top-water. Norfork Lake has a lot of 4-lb. Smallmouth. Image title

The lake level is 560.95 and has dropped 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 10-hours. They have the same scheduled for today. They continue to hold Norfork up high for some reason while dropping the other lakes. Table Rock is normal and they are running Bull Shoals hard and approaching normal again for some reason nobody knows because they have no accountability. They just do not like Norfork Lake. The surface water temperature is 84-degrees and the water remains clear and the clarity is excellent for Scuba Diving. The thermocline is 29-feet and has been the same for a couple of weeks.  The White River at Newport is 11.11 feet and low and it looks like Norfork will be high all summer. It is not like they have not had chances to drop it. I found more crappie on main lake brush in 25-30 ft of water yesterday and that is a good sign. They do not usually move in until the last part of August. Walleye, Crappie and Bass are all on the same brush. I have not seen a Flathead since the season opened for spearfishing. The people fishing after dark Bass fishing with a black light, flourescent line and flourescent saltcraw are doing well just northeast of Cranfield Island about 9:PM. There are a lot of Bluegill on brush drawing in the predator fish. It is to warm up early next week but not too bad. The weather has been excellent. Bring the children and come on down to Blackburns before school starts. Summer is going by quickly. We are the family place and will not charge you too much. We know how hard you work for your money.
