Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and lake condition and Fishing Report from Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Jerin and Jordon with their new dog Oreo. They are two fine young men and my friends. Keith is not bad either. Image title

The lake level is 561.26 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with just 5-hours of generation. The slug of water from the big rain in the Yellville area on Wednesday is moving south and the White River at Newport has crested and is now at 20.14 feet and never came close to the minor flood level of 26-feet. They are scheduled to generate another 5-hours today with no effort to drop the lake. I have never seen anything managed so poorly since the Former President's Security Detail and they will not fire her either. The surface water temperature is 84-degrees and the thermocline is at 29-feet. The visibility at the thernocline is about 5-feet. Several fish are on main lake points on brush at that level including Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and smaller Walleye. I am not finding big schools of crappie yet but that usually happens in the latter part of August. The larger Walleye, Hybrids and Stripers are deeper in 55-ft. of water near the bottom. The Bink's Spoon is the best lure. The after dark bite for Bass on saltcraws is still good. Carl Scott is back and caught Bass on the Buzz Bait on shallow flats. We are to get more rain the middle part of next week buth the next few days look good. The lake is in good condition for boating, swimming, diving and fishing but there are a few pieces of floating debris out there but not bad. Blackburns Resort and Boat rental continues to be the family headquarters for Norfork lake and has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the ozarks. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. We especially welcome Veterans and Police.
