The lake level is 561.06 and has risen just a bit in the last 24-hours with no generation for 2-days. They just started a couple of hours ago. They refuse to drop the lake and are trying to see how high they can hold it for as long as they can while keeping all other area lakes below top of power pool. The White River at Newport is 10.65 ft. low and dropping so they are not letting out much anywhere. We at Norfork are either owed an explanation or a resignation. Preferrable the latter. They like to unilaterally impose regulations with no input from the tax payers, like most government agencies and weaponize their self-imposed power on anybody that disagrees with them.  You not only have to agree but have to shut up about it or have the full wrath of the government come down on you. The surface water temperature is 88-degrees and the water remains clear for this time of year. The thermocline is at 28-feet with several fish at or near this depth. Most fish are going deeper with the thermocline but bass are coming up shallow late evening to feed on crawdads. The stripers are in 65-feet of water and hitting the Bink's Spoon early near the bottom.  Hybrids, Walleye, White Bass and Bass are a little shallower.but also like the Bink's Many Shad Spoon. 3/4 or 1-ounce. Get out at daylight, take the middle of the day off and go again at dusk for Bass with the saltcraw. The crappie that I am getting are not in big numbers but good size. The ones on brush are in small schools and roaming. Catfishing is slowing with the moon getting bigger but still like the slowly rising water at night when they quit generating. 3-4 inch bluegills are the best but brooder shiners will work as a second place. I do like like gold fish very well but they are better than cut bait. Flathead season for spearfishing starts today as they have finished spawning. They are the last to do so. It is not too late to have a family vacation before school starts. Compare prices, check us out and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
