Bergen Carson with a nice one fishing off Blackburns Dock. He is a fine young man and a good fisherman.
The lake level is 559.69 and has risen 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. We received 3-inches of rain since yesterday and the creeks are running hard. They just started generating at 10:AM this morning which will help things out a little. There is no sense in the lakes being so high. The White River at Newport is 7.33 feet and very low indicating not much water is being released anywhere. The surface water temperature is 84-degrees and the water was very clear as of last night with a thermocline at 26-feet. A lot of Bass are on main lake points in 28-30 feet of water along with some Walleye and Crappie. This is a good time for Catfishing with live bait and Scuba Diving. The weather is to be excellent starting this afternoon. The rain has stopped and we had little wind with the storm. The Little Rock area received very heavy rain. The Striper Boats were coveyed up in Sally Hand Cove a couple of days ago catching several stripers in the 5-8 pound range. Those boys like to kill the Stripers before they get a chance to grow. It is like Buzzards after road kill. They are all out there staring at their live scopes like teenage girls on their cell phones. They must need meat badly.
