The lake level is 559.65 and has dropped 1.2 inches in the last 24-hours with generation from 9:AM to 5:PM. The White River at newport is 7.8 feet, very low, indicating not much water is being released anywhere. They want to hold the lakes as high as they can for as long as they can so if a hurricane brings us a big rain we will be flooded out again. The people managing the lakes need to be replaced. They are good at unilaterally imposing made-up new rules on private and resort docks and continuous inspections. I guess they are reacting to the recent rash of electrocutions at Bull Shoals and Norfork Docks. I have been here for over 30-years and have not ever heard of one. If they would quit flooding out the lakes for no reason this would not be an issue but they continue th have the policy of hold and hope for more rain.  The surface water temperature is 87-degrees and the water is clouded up from the holiday boat traffic but it was not as bad as it could have been. There was definitely less boats out there than I expected. It looks like we will get rain from hurricane Beryl on Tuesday and Wednesday with significant rain south of us. It always concerns me when a storm hits Texas, goes north and turns right at Oklahoma and sweeps across Arkansas going northeast. For now everything is fine and the lake is in excellent condition.
