The lake level is 559.73 and has risen 1.2 inches in the last 24-hours with no generation and 1.2 inches of rain last night. They just started generating this morning. The White River at Newport is 8.36 feet and very low indicating not much water is being released anywhere. Nobody knows why they are holding the area lakes up so high for so long. They must like flooding. The weather cooled down with this cold front and the grass is growing again. It was hot yesterday to say the least. The 4th is over and the lake is stirred up but not as bad as in the past. There was not the boat traffic that I expected but still more now than a normal summer weekend. The town was busy but not crowded. The lake remains in excellent condition for Swimming, Boating, Scuba Diving and Water Sports. It will start clearing again about Sunday Night. We have been very fortunate that all of the severe weather since last month has gone around us. People are working together to clean up after the tornado and things are getting back to normal. It was rough in some places. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental continues to have the best place and the best price on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches. The big pool with slide and baby pool is open and a free stall for your boat at our dock comes with a cabin rental of two days or more. No pool no dock no resort. We have it all here at Blackburns and at the best price. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We will not charge you too much. Catfishing is picking up on live bait.
