The lake level is 560.46 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with no generation since 7:PM last evening with none scheduled for today. It is unbelievable that they are holding the lakes up so high in this hot, dry, with high electricity demand. We need new management. The White River is 11.96 feet at Newport and they will not vary from the 12-feet rule which needs to be changed. The lake surface water temperature is 86-degrees and rising and the creeks have cleared up quite a bit in the last couple of days and the thermocline is 24-25 feet with a lot of fish of different species around and just under that. Some stripers are south and west of Robinson Point campground before you get to point 4. The larger walleye are moving deeper and roaming in pairs and the flathead catfish are spawning. Bluegill are under docks and around willows and biting crickets. Bass are feeding near the bank on crawdads late evening on saltcraws. Some crappie are around main lake brush and some are in open water on shad. The lake is getting busier now that we are approaching July with weekends being very busy but the middle of the weeks is increasing. The mid-week boat traffic has been low up to now for some reason. I expect a huge crowd for the 4th of July week. Every local with a boat will want to be out there and join the crowd. I am not a big fan of holidays to say the least but the summer goes by fast.
