New PostNorfork lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing report and Lake Condition by Scuba steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Got off Blackburns Brush Piles. We will show you. Image title

The lake level is 560 60 and has dropped 2-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running for about 8-hours a day and no rainfall. Hope they keep it up. They have been trying to keep the levels up high for some reason. The White River at Newport is 11.85 feet and low so they could if they wanted to. The surface water temperature is just under 83-degrees and stable. The water is clearing a bit and the thermocline is 23-feet with cold water at 26-feet. The visibility is about 5-feet at the thermocline. The lake is in good condition but needs to drop a few feet to help with parking and launching and open up some more campgrounds. I went camping when in the Boy Scouts, did more camping in the Marine Corps, bought a pop-up camper later and now own a resort. No more camping for me. I do not like carrying my house around especially if it is a tent.  For the prices they are charging at campgrounds you can stay at Blackburns. What gas mileage do those big trailers get? I do not know. I am finding a lot of fish on Main Lake Points in the Blackburns Creek area on brush in 30-ft. of water. The crappie are on top, the bass are inside and the walleye are around the edge about 4-5 ft. off the bottom. I am Scuba Diving but pole fishermen are using spoons. Blackburn's 1-bedroom cabins start at $90/day and come with a free stall for your boat at our dock on a stay of two days or more. If you are staying at a place where you are nearly the only customer you are either staying at the wrong place or paying too much or both. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We have 12-pontoons for rent at various prices starting a $115/day plus fuel. Sorry you cannot drag anything with our boats or be out after dark. If you need to drag stuff stay at Blackburns and rent a boat from a marina but be prepared to pay.
