Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains region Fishing Report and lake Conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Opening day of spearfishing here on Norfork Lake at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental. Image title

The lake level is 560.72 and remains the same with minimum generation.. Absolutely none today despite the hot weather all around us and high electricity demand. They continue to run Table Rock hard to keep it dropping and at normal levels while Norfork just keeps creeping up. They are not only weaponizing the Corps Of Engineers against small busines owners with their regulations and constant inspections and rule changes but flooding them out also. There needs to be some accountability. It is hot and dry and there is no sense in high water.  The surface water temperature is 81-degrees and rising with a thermocline starting at 23-feet and cold at 26. The clarity is fair down to a mudline at 22-feet and gets better just below the thermocline. There is some kind of small algae bloom shallow. Scuba Conditions are fair to good with a lot of Walleye out there especially on Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental's Brush piles. Pole fishermen are catching small to medium sized Stripers dragging umbrellas and vertical jigging spoons in deep water at various depths. Crappie fishing is fair and several of the Crappie that are posted are being caught on Bull Shoals even though shown on Norfork web sites.  There are some good ones on main lake brush part way back in major creeks. There are also some White Bass on and around main lake points in 20-25 feet of water. Spoons are the lure of choice now and Blackburns Resort and Boat rental is the Resort of choice because of how nice it is and how low the prices are. You even get a free stall for your boat at our dock with a cabin rental of two days or more. Cabins start at $90/day for a 1-bedroom. No studios or duplexes here and all have big covered or screened-in porches. We also have 12-pontoons to rent and several full-service bass boats. Sorry you cannot drag or pull anything with our boats or take them out after dark but if you want to do that you can stay here and rent another boat from a marina but be prepared to pay. You must really want to drag the children around on chaise lounges. Scuba Diving season is open on Norfork and Scuba Steve will help you when you get here. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. Blackburns is the family place.
