Caught fishing with Bink's Guide Service on the Spoon.,
The lake level is 560.62 and is up 2-inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running for about 4-hours from 1-5 PM and then nothing for the rest of the day. The White River at Newport is 12.88 feet and dropping. All area lakes are rising except for Table Rock which is generating heavily. They will not let Branson Landing Flood out anymore at all costs. They learned their lesson about that and will not let that happen again. It is all about the $. We definitely need new management at the Corps of Engineers level. The surface water temperature is 79 in most places and 80 in others. The thermocline starts at 22 feet and is cold at 26-feet with a mud line at 22-feet but you can see through it. Visibility is getting better. Your best bet is to go to main lake points with brush and fish for bass in 15-ft. of water in the evenings and deeper during the day. Use a spoon or grub to get down to them when deep or a worm when shallow. Walleye and Crappie are with them as are a few White Bass. More crappie are moving to main lake brush. The lake is in good condition but is too high and is starting to affect parking and launching and marina access in some places. They need to drop the lake. It is up for no reason as we have not had excess rainfall. That excuse does not fly anymore. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental still has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat comes with the cabin. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. It is nice here. Why pay more unless you just have too much money? If you do stay here and give the difference to disabled Veterans.
