We are the family place and especially welcome Veterans and Police. Old Glory and the Thin Blue Line Flag fly proudly over Blackburns.
The lake level is 558.96 and is creeping up and is too high for no reason except they will not let out any water. They run both generators for about 4-hours during the day and then shut everything off. Bull Shoals is higher but they are running it hard. The White River at Newport is 12.50 feet and dropping so they could let out much more if they wanted to. They were trying to keep us at the top of the power pool but quit doing that for some reason, Just when I thought they were doing better they went back to their old ways. Government. Do not expect much do not get much. Good at imposing new regulations though. I spend about as much time working on their new rules and inspections as I do trying to run a business. They are also a part of the community but you would never know it. They certainly do not care what people think of them. The surface water temperature is 78-degrees and stable for several days and the thremocline is at 25-26 feet with a mud line starting at 22-feet. The visibility is poor below 22-feet but is better as you go south. There are a lot of fish of different species on main lake brush at 25-30 feet near the bottom both on points and flat gravelly banks. The walleye population is the best as I have ever seen it. I am doing well on small spoons on brush tapping the botton catching walleye, bass and a few crappie. Others are trolling umbrellas by the 101 bridge for stripers and still others are watching for top-water bass across from Cranfield Campground and spooning under them for stripers 50-ft. down. The top bass are feeding on the wounded shad floating up. Small Crankbaits and single spins are working for bass beating the bank part way back in the creeks. The lake overall is in excellent condition for swimming, boating and fishing. It looks to be a busy year here at Blackburns if the current conditions continue. We continue to have the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and are closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping. A free stall for your boat comes with a cabin rental of 2-days or more. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. You will like it here and the price is right. We will not charge you too much.
