The lake level is 558.92 and is the same as at this time yesterday but creeking up despite no rain. It is too high. They are running both generators for about 4-hours starting at noon and then shutting everything off the rest of the time. The White River at Newport is 12.39 feet and dropping. They could be letting out much more if they wanted to. The surface water temperature is 78-degrees and stable. It has been the same for several days. The thermocline is at 25-26 feet depending on where you are but is very pronounced. The visibility is not good and is about 3-4 feet with a mud line starting at 22-feet. Walleye and Bass on main lake brush in 22-27 feet of water with several on points. Some are also on gravelly banks. Open water fish are at the mouths of creeks in 50-70 feet of water 30-40 feet down on shad. Trollers are catching several smaller stripers, some hybrids and several white bass on umbrellas. The lake oeverall is in excellent condition for boating, swimming and fishing. Some nice fish are being caught.
