The lake level is 558.90 and has risen 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with absolutely no generation for three days. They are letting the water rise slowly until it is getting too high. We need new dam management and a review of the rules. There is no sense of this. The White River at Newport is 12.95 feet and dropping. They cannot blame too much rain this time. The minor flood stage at Newport is 25-feet and running it close to that does not hurt anything. Nothing matters except keeping Table Rock and Branson Landing at normal levels. The surface water temperature is 79-degrees and there is a thermocline at 22-feet with several fish at this level. Try a spoon on main lake points with brush at that depth near the bottom for bass, crappie, walleye and catfish. The slowly rising water and waning moon is really helping the catfishing. Some White Bass and Black bass are surfacing some mornings and most Stripers are going deeper and will continue to do so as the water warms. The new moon is the 6th and full again on the 21st. The water is clearing after the holiday churning and the lake overall is in excellent condition. The creeks are very clear again but that can change almost daily with the generation. We are getting small rains when needed but no too much. Mountain View, Missouri got a big one of 2-1/2 inches on Saturday but we got very little. Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental has been fortunate to have missed all of the severe weather and heavy rains this spring. We are very busy with people taking advantage of being able to stay at the best place with the best price for both cabins and boat rentals. They like the big covered porches to get out of the weather and sun, watching the wildlife and like having the privacy of also having all individual cabins with no duplexes. We also offer a free stall for your boat at our dock. The children love the big pool with slide and baby pool. No dock and no pool no resort. If you are in the area stop by and check us out. We do not mind drive throughs as long as you go slow as there are a lot of children running around playing. Yes we are pet friendly and you can fish off our dock. Come on down. We will not charge you too much. Compare prices and call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We have 300-Meg internet.
