The lake level is 554.30 and is the same as it was at this time yesterday. We received another 1-inch of ran last night and today and the creeks run but not too hard. They have had sluice gates open equal to just short of one generator and shut the one operating generator down a couple of days ago. The White River at Newport is 17.86 feet and dropping. The surface water temperature is 47-degrees and has not changed much lately but it is going up instead of down and there is not much chance of a shad kill.  The water is stained in the creeks and you can see your lure down 5-6 feet on the main lake. The creeks clarity changes almost daily. Fishing is not the best but a few good ones are being caught everyday. Most striper fishermen are still around Howards Cove around 101 boat dock. They are out there everyday and if they do not write a report it is not because they are not fishing but just not catching. I went out yesterday evening bass fishing and caught a few but nothing to brag about. It was tough and I stayed out until the rain started. I hoped they would turn on but they did not. The stripers will simulate spawn just before the full moon in March which is the 25th and will move to the bank near dark just north of Cranfield Island near the Walleye rearing pond and by the dam across from Quarry Marina or whatever it is called now and by Thumb Point. They can be caught slow rolling a stick bait. The Walleye will be finished spawning by then and you can fish for them on shadowy banks with a soft plastic until almost dark and then move and switch to the stick bait for stripers. I cannot keep track of all of the marinas and resorts that are either sold or for sale. Whispering Woods, Mockingbird Bay, Bayou Resort, Norfork Lake Resort (Henderson Hotel) and Hummingbird Hideway are all for sale and Fish and Fiddle Resort sold. Quarry Marina, 101 Marina and Fouts Marina all sold. No Blackburns is not for sale. We like it here. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
