NOrfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 554 even and has risen 1.2 inches in the last 24-hours with sluice gates open to an equivalent of less than 1/2 generator. We have received 1.2 inches of rain since this started a coup[le of days ago with more on the way. It has been slow and gentle with light winds and has not hurt anything. Most of the snow is gone but there is still ice melting on the north sides of hills and shaded areas and there is still frost in the ground. It is warming up with not much chance of below freezing temperatures for the next week. It is very foggy out now and has been all day. Nothing to make it lift. I could see my lure down about 5-feet when I went out yesterday afternoon when there was a break in the rain. The surface water temperature was 45-degrees where I was fishing in Blackburns Creek. I caught four crappie and a Bass on one of Blackburns new brush piles and came in when it started raining again. (White Bass do not count) No picture fish but not bad.  Fishing overall is just fair but I did not go out in open water looking for shad and stayed close to the shed. I have some plumbing and electrical fixtures to replace and will hit is again in a couple of hours. The days are getting longer and that is good. We work inside when it is cold and outside when it warms. Spring is on the way and you cannot get ready properly when on vacation. Check out prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 and reserve your cabin and boat for the spring and summer. Blackburns is the first to fill up and if you wait you might have to pay way too much elsewhere. No price increases this year. We will not charge you too much.
