The lake level is 554.51 and has dropped 1-1/4 inches in the last 24-hours with sluice gates open equal to about 1/2 generator. The White River at Newport is 15.98 feet and has leveled off. The surface water temperature is 46-degrees on the main lake and lower in the shallower creeks. The 3-inches of snow stated to melt yesterday and will continue today. It is to get cold again after that. Our normal high is 44-degrees but we have not seen that in a while but should next week. It was good to have the sun shine. The water clarity is not the best and I could see my lure down about 4-5 feet yesterday. I fished until dark and caught some very nice crappie and bass. The bite improved just after sunset when I caught most of them. I wonder how cold it would have gotten if we did not have global warming. Where is it when you need it? I did not see any other boats out there but I did not go far. I did see three eagles duck hunting in the back of Blackburns Creek and watched them get one. There was one Golden Eagle and it was only the second one that I have ever seen here.  The creek was full of geese and ducks in the back and wildlife was everywhere including deer. I enjpyed watching them. It is busy here at Blackburns with people taking advantage of the best place and best prices in the Ozarks. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation.
