Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

This is what it looks like today. Blackburns has a lot of birds and they are hungry. Blackburns is an Arkansas State Bird Sanctuary. Image title

The lake level is 554.58 and has risen 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with no discharge from the dam. The White River at Newport is 16.29 feet and rising but it is not coming from Norfork. They are running Bull Shoals hard. It is hard to get a good surface water temperature. I had 44 degrees in the middle of Blackburns Creek, 40 near the shore in shallow water and 45-46 on the main lake in deep water. The lake seems to be clearing a bit. One thing for sure is that the water temperature is not rising. I saw no ice on the shoreline as of last night but I am sure there is some in places this morning.  It is to get near 40 for the next two days and then get cold again. We received 3-inches of very light flaky snow and there is no problem getting around in it. The lake level was 553.59 with a surface water temperature of 48-degrees, the White River at Newport was 9.44 feet and the ambient temperature was 52-degrees on this date last year and they let us flood out at the end of Match. Blackburns continue to have the best prices in the Ozarks on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and now is the time to make your plans for a family vacation or fishing trip for the spring and summer. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115. A free boat stall in our dock comes with the cabin. I am getting calls about the fish 2023 fish stockings for Norfork lake by the Game and Fish. There were 154,459 fingerling Striped Bass stocked in June of 2023 in Pigeon Creek, Boggy Creek, Calamity Beach, and Bennett's Bayou. There were 44,000 Hybrid Striperd bass fingerlings stocked in the same places at the same time. And  32,074 fingerling Walleye stocked in the same places at the same time. Not bad but I would like to see more walleye. I know Missouri put in some but there are not enough. I hope this answers your questions.
