Scuba Steve with a couple put in Tom Kelly's Trophy Pond.
The lake level is 554.30 and has risen 2-inches in the last 24-hours with only minimum flow. They shut down the sluice gates. The White River at Newport is 15.79 feet and rising. It is not low anymore. It is important to watch this level in order to figure out what is going to happen. The surface water temperature is 48-degrees and the water clarity is not the best and you can see your lure down about 4-feet. The lake level was 553.60 with a surface water temperature of 49 degrees and the White River at Newport was 10.37ft. with a water clarity of 5-feet on this date last year and they flooded us out at the end of March. I hope they learned from their errors but they are government and they are best at taking days off and making more rules for the tax payer to abide by. There are too many government people telling too few of us small business owners what we have to do and if we disagree we better be quiet about it or else. Boy was it windy yesterday and almost impossible to get out of. Our Wisconsin people are here to fish and nothing stops them. I thought I was bad. I go out for a short time to get lake conditions and catch a couple of fish and they are out there all day and catching fish no matter what. They like those stripers and know how to catch them. It is sunny and the wind has layed a bit but it is to snow tomorrow and get colder on Monday. The good thing is we are 1/2 way through January. Compare prices and give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 to make a reservation. Blackburns is the first resort to fill up and if you wait you will end up paying way to much elsewhere. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and a free boat stall at our dock comes with the cabin. Some charge for this. We do not.
